Decoctions
Definition:
◦A liquid preparation made by boiling an herb with water
Recipe/Instructions:
◦Decoction
◦2 tbsps dried herb or 4 tbsps fresh.
◦3 cups of water
◦Place herbs in stainless steel or glass pan and add water.
◦Bring herbs to a boil, then simmer until volume is reduced by half.
◦Strain and serve.
◦Semi-Decoction
◦1 ½ tbsp dried herb or 3 tbsps fresh
◦1 c of water
◦As above, but only bring water to a simmer.
◦Turn off and let sit 20 minutes.
◦Strain and serve.
