  • Oil helps with muscle strains, sprains and aches.
  • Oil can also be used on broken skin and burns.
  • The dried herb can be used internally to treat depression, anxiety, neuralgia, and arthritis. 
  • Can cause photosensitivity in both topical and oral applications. 
  • Can also worsen depression in some users. 

Folktales, Facts, and History:   It has been used as a skin remedy for hundreds of years. The following is a quote from herbalist William Coles from the 17th century, "The little holes where of the leaves of Saint Johns wort are full, doe resemble all the pores of the skin and therefore it is profitable for all hurts and wounds that can happen thereunto."
